Combining types from Campanian cities and Tarentum, the Campano-Tarentine coinage remains a mystery and has not yet been closely studied. Judging from the coins' fabric, the mint may have been situated at Tarentum, but the series circulated in Campania rather than Calabria. The abundance of symbols (our coin adds a new one to the inventory) suggests that the mint was an experienced one.
