George VI. 1937. Coronation year specimen set (15 coins). Full set: crown, halfcrown, florin, English and Scottish shillings; six pence, three pence (different type than Maundy 3d), threepence, penny, halfpenny, farthing and a full Maundy set of four coins. Silver is .500 fine. S. PS16. The set is FDC with toning; the coins were kept so that the reverses are generally fresh; the obverses are toned; the three bronze pieces are Uncirculated but darkened; the brass 3d has some light marks on the obverse and a similar small mark on the reverse; the box is fresh with the inside silk liner particularly free of staining. The lettering on the case holding the coins reads "SPECIMEN COINS" but the silver pieces are proofs.
