BRUTTIUM. Kroton. Circa 530-500 BC. Stater (Silver, 29 mm, 7.98 g, 1 h). ϘΡΟ Tripod with legs ending in lion's feet, and with three handles and snakes rising from the bowl; cable border. Rev. Same type, but incuse; rayed border. HN III 2075. SNG ANS 227. SNG Lloyd 591. SNG Lockett 597. A boldly struck, attractive and toned example. Minor marks and traces of corrosion and possible repair under the toning, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
