Republic gold Piefort "Jose Marti" 100 Pesos 1989 MS67 NGC, KM-P28. Mintage: 10. The key rarity of this Jose Marti commemorative piefort series in gold, and even more elusive that the Proof striking of the same date, which saw 15 pieces struck according to the Standard Catalog of World Coins. Apparently one of just two examples certified, we note that the last, an MS69, brought a hammer price of 12,000 CHF when it crossed the auction block in October 2016.
