Constantine IX, Monomachus 1042-1055, AV histamenon nomisma (4,37 g). Bust of Christ facing wearing nimbus with cross, pallium and colobium/Bust facing bearded wearing crown and loros, holding long cross and globus with cross Constantine IX was emperor when the later King Harald of Norway (the hard ruler) had to flee Constantinople in 1045. This is the same Harald that attempted to conquer England in 1066, but lost in the battle at Stamford Bridge against Harold Godwinson. Grade:1+
