Libius Severus (461-465) - AE Nummus (Rome, 0.67 g) - Pearl-diademed head right / Monogram of Ricimer (cf. RIC 2715) - F/VF, brown patina, edge damage, a rare coin. Libius Severus was proclaimed emperor by Ricimer in Ravenna. Fairly nothing is known about his life, and the fact that Ricimer's monogram is on the reverse of his coins states that historically he was of minor importance.
