Hersh, A Quinarius Hoard from Southern Italy, 154-158 (one of which this coin). 2.18g, 16mm, 3h.

Good Extremely Fine; dark old cabinet tone.

From the Andrew McCabe Collection, collector's ticket included;
Privately purchased from Ancient Imports (Marc Breitsprecher);
Previously acquired from Spink & Son Ltd., c. 1970s;
Ex 'Southern Italian Hoard' 1970.

"The 1972 Hersh article, on a southern Italian hoard containing this coin, illustrates only a sample of dies. Coins number 154 to 158 (Numismatic Chronicle 1972 page 81) of this type have neither die illustrated thus and therefore must include this coin. The original 1970s Spink ticket is no longer with the coin but a link to the 1972 article was conveyed on my vendor ticket." - Andrew McCabe.
