Princess Irena Grigoryevna Trubetskaya was the daughter of Grigorij Filimonovich Naryshkin and Matrena Stepanovna Naryshkin; she was married in 1691, aged 19, to Field Marshal Ivan Yourevitch Balchoi Troubetskoi, a member of Tsar Peter I's inner circle. One of their three daughters was Anastasiya Ivanovna Princess Cantemir [Anastasia Ivanovna von Hessen-Homburg].
