In 1835 de Lisle Brock led a successful deputation to London to protest against a Bill which sought to deprive the Channel Islands of their right to export corn to England without having to pay duty. The medal commemorates his successful protest. His brother, Sir Isaac Brock, is remembered as the Hero of Upper Canada.
