Princess Helena Victoria was the third daughter of Queen Victoria. Prince Christian Frederick Charles Augustus (1831-1917), Prince of Schleswig-Holstein. Princess Louise was the sixth child and fourth daughter of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. She married John Douglas Sutherland, the Duke of Argyll, Marquis of Lorne, and Earl of Campbell (1845-1914), the fourth Governor General of Canada (1878-1883).
