The Milton Collection, British West Africa, George VI, Proof copper 1/10-penny, 1952, Royal Mint, no IND IMP in legend (FT 301A; KM 26a), rare, certified and graded by NGC as Proof 64 Red Brown
Ex David Vice, Heritage Auction 3039 (10 January 2016), lot 37092.
The Vice auction description makes no mention of a small circular mark between the 5 and 2 of the date – something clearly to do with the coin's manufacture. They do, however, note the coin to be "Similar, though perhaps higher quality than, the Arielle Collection example, which hammered at 340 GBP. Lustrous and original surfaces that perhaps err more on the side of "red" than on "brown"."
(125-175 GBP)
