Blue-green, yellow, and multi-coloured featuring Charles de Second at (Baron de La Brède et de Montesquieu) and as watermark, Justicia on obverse. The reverse Charles de Second at (Baron de La Bréde et de Montesquieu) and La Brède castle (Montesquieu's birthplace). Together with 50 Francs Pick 85b (Fayette F18.14) dated 15th September 1938 serial number J.8488 594 212183594 signatures Rousseau & Favre-Gilly, GVF Pinholes Minor Stain. Also known amongst French collectors as 'Ceres' featuring Ceres, Park of Versailles and reclining figure on obverse. The reverse illustrating Mercury with the Caduceus staff.
