China People's Bank of China 1000 Yuan 1951 Pick 857Aa S/M#C282 PMG Uncirculated 62. All Outer Province types, created for Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang, are very rare today. They are almost unheard-of in Uncirculated grade. This example was somehow, thankfully, saved from circulation. It was housed in a collector book for decades. PMG mentions mount remnants on the back of the third party holder. At the time of cataloging, this example if one of only five notes grading Uncirculated in the PMG Population Report. We have not offered this design since 2014. Only four examples have sold in public auction since. All details are bold and fresh, with a pretty Steppes scene with livestock at front. These northern issues feature Mongolian and Uyghur text as well as Chinese.
