Waterlow & Sons has yet again prepared a stunning, Color Trial Specimen in blue, green, and tan hues as a marketing strategy to lure prospective clients. As was the norm, serial numbers and the manuscript signature were omitted. Hole punched cancellations and overprints were applied. The eye appeal is simply excellent. Chartered Bank of India, Australia & China banknotes were printed and issued at smaller quantities than their HSBC contemporaries, which explains the rarity of this design. At the time of cataloging, there are no sales records for Color Trial Specimen. Assuredly, this is one of only a few pieces extant. Totally original paper is easily discerned through the third party holder. We have not offered this type in this format. It may be quite some time before another appears.
