Once again, Waterlow & Sons wows us with a masterpiece of banknote printing. This large format, key denomination is seen in Color Trial format, complete with test color schemes, hole punched cancellations and red overprints. According to The Banknote Book's Hong Kong chapter, Waterlow & Sons only printed 23,500 across all three known dates for this denomination. No genuine, issued example has sold in public auction since data was actively collected. At the time of cataloging, only two Color Trial Specimen had sold previously in the last five years. Most of these stunning Color Trial Specimen were mounted in presentation booklets, a trace evidence of which remains.
