Gallo-Belgic, Ambiani or Bellovaci (c. 150-100 BC), AV Stater, Series A, Broad flan issue, stylised laureate head of Apollo left, rev. sinuous horse and rider left, pellet motifs surround, 7.02g, 9h (Sills Gallo-Belgic Ab; VA 12; S.2; ABC 4), superficial scuffing to surfaces, otherwise well-centred, a desirable early issue and one of this island's 'first' regular coinages.
