ISLAMIC, Time of the Rashidun. Pseudo-Byzantine types. Follis (Bronze, 27 mm, 4.43 g, 11 h), presumably imitating a follis of Constans II, uncertain mint, circa AH 29 = AD 650 or earlier. Crowned and draped beardless bust facing, holding globus cruciger in his right hand; around, traces of legend. Rev. Large m; around, blundered legend. Goodwin&Gyselen, p. 48, Class G. H. Pottier, I. Schulze and W. Schulze: 'Pseudo-Byzantine Coinage...', in: RBN 154 (2008), Class III, 1a, Fig. 1. A particularly crude and wild imitation. Very fine.

This particularly crude and wild imitation shares the obverse die with lot 1781.
