SERBIA. Djuradj I Brankovic, Despot, 1427-1456. Gros (Silver, 17 mm, 0.84 g, 3 h). ΠΟ/Pb/ Γ - b Lion rampant to left. Rev. Christ, nimbate, standing facing within mandorla, raising his right hand in benediction and holding book of Gospels in his left; in field to left, IC; in field to right, XC. Jovanovic, 42-6. Very rare. Holed and with light scratches, otherwise, very fine.


The lion rampant was the coat of arms of the Branković family.
