MZDYSN BGY L'MŠTLY YZDKLTY MLKAn MLKA ('Worshipper of Lord Mazda, 'God' and Delight of the Empire, Yazdgard, King of Kings' in Pahlawi) Draped bust of Yazdgard I to right, wearing elaborate crown with korymbos and crescent on forehead. Rev. TWLY YZDKLTY ('Fire of Yazdgard' in Pahlawi) Fire altar flanked by two attendants; in upper field to left, pellet between two crescents; in upper field to right, crescent above pellet; in field to right, AS (name of the mint in Pahlawi). SNS III, pl. 46,9. Some doubling on the obverse, otherwise, virtually as struck.
