A rare Nari?o quadrangular pedestal bowl from Colombia, ca. 850 - 1500 A.D.. This fine example from the Capuli cultural complex is 5" high and is decorated with the negative resist designs characteristic of the type. Slip erosion in the center of the bowl is from extensive usage and acidic burial contents. Strong mineral deposits and minor old repair. Cf. Labbe "Colombia Before Columbus", page 145.
