THESSALY, Thessalian League. Circa 196-27 BC. Stater (Silver, 23 mm, 6.69 g, 1 h), struck under the magistrates Python and Kleomachides, mid to late 1st century BC. Head of Zeus to right, wearing oak wreath. Rev. ΘEΣΣA-ΛΩN / ΠYΘ-ΩN[OΣ] / KΛEOMAXI Athena Itonia striding right, hurling spear with her right hand and extending shield with her left; to right, tripod. BCD Thessaly II 848. Dewing 1373. Toned. Good very fine.
