BOEOTIA. Thebes. Circa 425-395 BC. Stater (Silver, 21.5 mm, 12.09 g). Boeotian shield; horizontally on upper half of the shield, club to left. Rev. Θ Head of Dionysos to right, bearded and wearing an ivy wreath; all within incuse square. BCD Boiotia 436 (same reverse die). Centered and lightly toned with an attractive head of DIonysos. Very fine.
