LUCANIA. Metapontum. Circa 330-290 BC. Nomos or Didrachm (Silver, 20 mm, 7.91 g, 5 h). Head of Demeter to right, wearing a grain wreath, pendant earring and necklace. Rev. META Ear of barley with leaf to right; above leaf, star of sixteen rays; below to left, [Λ]Υ. HN III 1592. Johnston Class C, 8.4 = SNG ANS 500 (same dies). Well struck and lightly toned. Good very fine.
