George III (1760-1820), Waterloo Medal, 1815, bronzed copper Pattern, 36 mm, 26.34 g, plain edge (Eimer 1070), some carbon spotting on the mirror-like surfaces, much as struck.
It was originally intended that this settled design be struck in bronzed copper for award to officers and men alike, but prior to completion the Prince Regent directed that the medals were to be produced in fine silver.
