William III. 1694-1702. Copper halfpenny. 10.15 gm. 28 mm. First Issue. 1697. His laureate and cuirassed bust right; GVLIELMVS • - TERTIVS • around, I/E / Britannia seated left; BRITAN - NIA around; 1697 below. S. 3554. Peck 648 (ER). Good Very Fine; pleasing surfaces, particularly the obverse–note the detail on the head of William; head of Britannia weak; the flan is slightly thinner at that point so there was not enough metal to fill the die. (The thickness of the fuller part of the flan is 2 mm; the weaker area is 1.8 mm.)
