GREAT BRITAIN. 1/2 Sovereign, ND (1544-47). Southwark Mint; im: S. Henry VIII. PCGS Genuine--Damaged, EF Details Gold Shield.
S-2297; Fr-167; N-1828. Third coinage. Obverse: Henry seated facing on throne, holding cruciform scepter and orb; rose below; Reverse: Crowned coat-of-arms, with lion and unicorn as supporters. Though exhibiting some damage in the form of an "X" on the body of the unicorn, this type nevertheless presents a full seated figure of the famous king whose facial features still remain rather recognizable. A charming orange nature to the tone simply augments the contrast and visibility of the devices.
Estimate: $1000.00- $2000.00
