ISLE OF MAN. Triangular Crown, 2009. Pobjoy Mint. GEM PROOF.
Fr-Unlisted; KM-1388. AGW: 1.00 oz. Mintage: 250. An interesting and engaging issue billed as "the world's first pyramid coin," though in reality it is merely triangular as opposed to pyramidal. This piece features a great deal of Egyptian iconography and hieroglyphics, as well as a recessed circular area near the top of the obverse which contains sand grains and is covered with a transparent layer, thus allowing the viewer to observe the sand roll around inside. Includes original triangular case of issue.
