Dia-176.1. By J. B. Gass & J. C. G. Jaeger. Obverse: Crowned and draped bust of Catherine II (the Great) right; Reverse: Catherine standing left, holding infant Alexander (Grand Duke Alexander Pavlovich) and receiving sun rays; to left, lighted and garlanded altar, with Russian coat-of-arms propped to side. Quite deeply toned throughout, with some scattered marks but very little in the way of wear or handling. An interesting and engaging medal that is quite RARE in silver.
