ARGENTINA. 2 Soles, 1825-RA. La Rioja Mint. PCGS AU-50.
KM-18; CJ-43.1. "Ca De BAs" legend variety. A whimsical issue that seems to illustrate a frowning sunface as the central obverse motif with the addition of "Ca De BAs" (abbreviation of: Compania de Buenos Aires) in the reverse legends, which is the only such mention of Buenos Aires on this early sunface coinage. This lightly circulated example remains unquestionably pleasing, with remnants of soft luster in the fields and warm orange tone that compliments the tops of both sides. Quite RARE in this quality, it stands as the single finest certified of the issue at either PCGS or NGC.
