CHILE. 1/2 Real, 1833-SANTIAGO I. Santiago Mint. PCGS MS-65 Gold Shield.
KM-90. Mintage: 39,440. Two-year type. A prized minor issue that finds itself in constant demand due to the charming erupting volcano motif that appears on one side and the immediately identifiable globe-topped pillar of Chile that appears on the other. In Gem condition such as the present piece, quite RARE, with this being the single finest example of the type certified by PCGS. Befitting of its grade, the surfaces showcase immaculate preservation, with a subtle golden aura, and radiant luster that beams throughout. If not for a slight hint of central softness due to strike, this piece might have even merited an even finer grade. Collectively, a coin that is sure to be the target of collectors who are drawn to the elite.
