Vasco da Gama at left, with three ships from the Age of Discovery seen sailing towards a rayed sun design at center. The reverse displays arms at center, with the bank name at top and denomination at bottom, with "500" counters at left and right surrounded by intricate designs. Scarce, and found in a Very Fine grade with minor spotting noticed along with lights stains.
