Bermuda Bermuda Government 10 Pounds 28.7.1964 Pick 22 PMG Superb Gem Unc 68 EPQ. A beautiful, Queen Elizabeth II banknote that checks all the boxes for desirability: high denomination, relative rarity, high grade, and low serial number. The £10 denomination began in theory years before it was actually issued, and its role was to aid larger transactions during the rise of inflation. Printer records show that 300,000 notes were prepared, but only about 250,000 seem to have been officially issued. The note offered here is from the second pack of notes issued, with serial number 000104. Incredible technical features, including pinpoint centering, sharp corners, and complete originality, are easily seen on this stunning note. The £10 note had a short stint in circulation, somewhere between 4 and 6 years at most. In 1970, Bermuda adopted the Dollar currency system, which forced the old notes to be redeemed. At the time of cataloging, only 67 notes appear in the PMG Population Report, and only three occupy the top spot in that report. A fantastic government note, this offering is especially desirable with its small serial number. https://currency.ha.com/itm/world-currency/bermuda-bermuda-government-10-pounds-2871964-pick-22-pmg-superb-gem-unc-68-epq/p/4028-45002.s?type=CoinArchivesCurrency4028 HID08706262019 © 2020 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
