British Guiana Royal Bank of Canada $20 (£4.3.4) 3.1.1938 Pick S142 Ch.#630-38-04 PMG Very Fine 25. While Government of British Guiana notes receive acclaim due to their pretty designs and high denomination rarities, private bank issues are also quite rare. This $20 denomination is the second highest of the series, and is seldom seen in any grade. Standard circulation is seen atop bold colors and clean paper. Canadian banks were tasked by the British Foreign Office to aid in currency operations in Caribbean colonies, resulting in a plethora of designs and denominations being potentially available. However, almost all were redeemed beginning in the 1940s, leaving very few extant to be collected today. Famed British Guiana high denomination notes are extremely popular.
