China Industrial & Commercial Bank Limited, Shanghai 50 Dollars 1.1.1923 Pick S383Is S/M#K92 Specimen PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ. A gorgeous and well preserved example of the highest denomination from the 1923 Industrial and Commercial Bank's 1923 Shanghai series. Known in only Specimen or Proof formats, examples from this bank in issues form remain unconfirmed. The design of this note provides excellent eye appeal with a central vignette of the allegorical man wearing loincloth seated on an anvil and framed with bold red and multicolor inks. Printed by the American Banknote Company, examples are extremely scarce with only four pieces registered in the PMG Population Report. This offering marks only the second time we have handled this denomination in Specimen format.
