The high denomination and associated buying power of this banknote forced its redemption into gold coinage a century ago, leaving extant examples few and far between. At the time of cataloging, only nine examples have been graded by PMG, and few examples have been offered publicly. Pinholes and some minor tears are seen, both of which are commonplace on such a large banknote that was printed on thin paper.
