Gambia The Gambia Currency Board 10 Shillings; 1 Pound; 5 Pounds 5.10.1964 Pick 1a; 2a; 3a Matching Serial Number 16 Presentation Album Crisp Uncirculated. After the West African Currency Board was dissolved, the newly independent countries in the region needed their own currency. Gambia formed a colonial-era Currency Board and issued three sterling notes, which would circulate from 1964 to 1970. This handsome presentation booklet in interesting, as it includes matching serial number 000016 banknotes, and a uniface back Proof for each, which allows for full viewing of all details. The notes and Proofs are mounted to cardstock pages.
