Lebanon Banque de Syrie et du Liban 50 Livres 1.9.1939 Pick 30b PMG Extremely Fine 40. The 50 Livres was the highest denomination of the 1939-dated series, printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Company. Although dated 1939, they were not issued until 1942. Shortly before issue, batches of notes were overprinted with various shapes to identify shipments of notes in case some were lost in transit during World War II. Only 250,000 rhombus overprinted notes were printed and issued, and very few still exist to be enjoyed by collectors today. At the time of cataloging, only five examples are graded in the PMG Population Report.
