In his 2015 article 'Two numismatic puzzles from 1st century Sestus' (Archaeology of the first millennium A.D. Vol. IV: Nomads and the autochthonous in the first millennium A.D., pp. 36-8), M. Fox postulates that this issue was struck during the Civil War of AD 68-9.
