Ionia, Magnesia ad Maeandrum AR Tetrobol. Circa 465-400 BC. Male figure standing facing, leading a horse standing facing to left, head to right / Eagle flying within incuse square. Apparently unpublished; Leu Web Auction 4, lot 269; cf. Leu Web Auction 8, lot 363 (trihemiobol); CNG 72, lot 733 (obol). 1.74g, 15mm, 9h.

Near Very Fine; porous surface. Extremely Rare; possibly the third known example.

This issue has been attributed to Themistokles by CNG. However, this attribution has to remain uncertain.
