Livorno. Cosimo III de'Medici Tollero 1711 MS64 NGC, Livorno mint, KM16.5, Dav-1500, MIR-65/4 (R). A genuinely elusive issue in such pristine and peak quality, presently standing as one of just two examples so graded. Indeed, the fields appear absolutely flush with die polish--a feature so often lacking from this typically well-circulated type--while at the same time giving off an unmistakably bright finish that wells to a crescendo around the devices. Likely quite near to how it was struck, and incredibly desirable as such.
