George VI Proof Crown 1937-(m) PR66 PCGS, Melbourne mint, KM34. Proof Mintage: 100. The scarcer of the only two Proof dates for Australian crowns, and one which jumps enormously in value once it enters the upper echelons of its Proof status. Entirely free of tone, the surfaces are absolutely filled to the brim with die polish lines, with an especially strong concentration in the region around George's forehead. Absolutely the single finest certified at present between NGC and PCGS combined, we note that the next highest that we have offered, a PR64, brought $16,800 when it came to auction last January.
