Republic gold Proof 100 Kronen 1923 PR64 Ultra Cameo NGC, Vienna mint, KM2831, Fr-518. Designed by Richard Placht. An engaging representative of this fleeting two-year issue showcasing the boldest possible level of visual impact - a result of both a flawless strike and surfaces bathed in mirror reflectivity. Thin hairlines preclude finer certification, though the fields retain the same degree of mint brilliance that they did on the day this coin was struck nearly 100 years ago, a single stray mark beneath the "100" in the denomination serving as the only minor distraction across what is otherwise a sea of wholesome mirrorlike polish. Only two examples seen by NGC certify finer, both only a single point above the present offering.
