temp. Philip IV silver Atocha Shipwreck Recovery Bar of 81 troy lb 4 troy oz 162x, Amongst the largest ownable relics of this most famous of shipwreck recoveries, this massive silver ingot possesses a historical clout that can quite literally be felt. Containing nearly 976 troy ounces of silver, stamped across the piece as piece 2380 fine (out of a maximum fineness of 2400), this piece is fully regardable as massive, its surfaces an even stone gray with comparatively mild granularity for its time spent underwater. Notably enough, the bar also bears a still partially legible date stamp, not at all a frequent feature. Included with this lot is the original certificate that accompanied the piece with the facsimile signature of treasure-hunter Mel Fisher.
