Produced to a standout quality for this unique "Constitution" type, this fantastic 8 Escudos reveals consistently raised and well-outlined detail positively bathed in mint luster. No larger signs of contact or handling are traceable across the surfaces, while the eye remains fully engaged by the lustrous character of the shimmering golden fields, these carrying just a trace of crimson peripheral tone to the reverse. The offering remains the only example of its type and date to have been bestowed with a "star" for exceptional eye appeal by NGC, and in-hand review only leads to the conclusion that this rare distinction is fully justified.
