Republic gold 8 Escudos 1855/2 QUITO-GJ UNC Details (Reverse Spot Removed) NGC, Quito mint, KM34.1, Fr-8, Onza-1774. Of scarce conditional preservation for the type, which typically is seen moderately to extensively circulated. Though the strike remains on the weaker side, this may be seen as a common feature of the issue, with a persistent golden brilliance fully indicating the specimen's uncirculated condition. The noted spot removal is visible in the form of light scratching above QUITO to the reverse, yet the offering's scarce Mint State preservation and enhancing peripheral amber tone render it a strong candidate for a conditionally sensitive type collection of South American gold.
