Republic platinum Proof Piefort 10 Francs 1985 PR70 NGC, Paris mint, KM-P951, GEM-186.P4. A coin which ticks all the right boxes, pairing perfect technical quality with an absolute rarity verified by its mintage of 5. We note that some wisps appear over the surfaces, which seem to be as struck, judging from the last example we sold (which brought $5760 in August). Interestingly the actual mintage for this issue is unrecorded by Gadoury. Sold with NGC-verified Monnaies de Paris COA No. 0001.
