Venice. Revolutionary gold 20 Lire 1848 MS63 Prooflike NGC, Venice mint, KM806, Pag-176, Mont-89 (R2), Gig-1 (R2). Mintage: 5,250. Already notable as a very fleeting entry from the short-lived Revolutionary government of Venice, escalated to an entirely new level of rarity through the presence of its choice Prooflike assigned grade. One of a paltry 5 coins at NGC to be awarded with a Prooflike designation, and only the second we have handled, the last, an MS64, bringing an impressive $19,200 as part of our August 2019 ANA Platinum Night sale 3075.
