Elizabeth gold 5 Roubles 1756 XF Details (Scratch) PCGS, Red mint, KM-C27.1, Fr-124, Bit-48. Mintage: 13,000. Obv. Bust right. Rev. Cruciform crowned shields of Moscow, Kazan, Siberia, and Astrakhan with the date. Variety with small letters in legend. An extremely rare type, with very few pieces known in all conditions. Aside from the noted scratches on the obverse, the piece on the whole remains relatively appealing, the devices retaining their integral detail and finding essentially flawless centering on the planchet. Only the second example of this subvariety lacking the St. Petersburg mintmark that we have offered, with fewer than 10 apparently certified across both major grading services.
