Great Britain
William III Crown 1695 MS60 NGC, KM486, Dav-3781, S-3470, ESC-86. SEPTIMO edge. Bright silvery-white in color, with scattered haymarks over the surfaces (this due in part to the improperly alloyed silver used in this period). The slight softness to the high points of the strike are as typical for this pre-Recoinage Crown. In fact, the present example retains quite a bit more definition than is often found, with a nearly full reverse strike and noticeably greater curl detail upon the portrait than is often seen.
