Victoria Proof "Gothic" Crown 1847 UNC Details (Filed Rims) PCGS, KM744, S-3883, ESC-2571 (R5). UN DECIMO edge. An on the whole appreciable example of this iconic British crown type, the rim filing, though visible on the obverse between roughly 7 and 10 o'clock, proving to cause no disturbance to the surfaces. Whereas the vast majority of these UN DECIMO crowns come with even mirroring across the surfaces and devices, this specimen shows clear device frosting, placing it among the rarer subvarities known for the type according to English Silver Coinage, and nearly meriting a cameo designation.
